Other than the lake, Lake Tahoe is home to many streams, rivers, and smaller bodies of water that are all excellent for fishing. Many varieties of trout can be found in these waters such as rainbow, brook, brown, golden, and the mackinaw, which can be up to 20 pounds or even larger. Others include kokanee salmon, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, catfish, perch, and mountain whitefish. Cast your line from the shore or hire a boat charter for the big catch in the deeper parts of the lake.
