From the moment you enter, Carnelian Bay Hideaway lives up to its name. The plush seating in the living room invites you to rest and relax by the gas fireplace. Flat screen HDTV with AppleTV, DVDs, an Apple HomePod, games, cards and books are all available for your enjoyment. For those who just can’t “disconnect,” there’s wifi too. Large windows and a vaulted ceiling give it a light, airy feel.

The fully stocked kitchen has beautiful stone countertops, a gas range and everything you’ll need to prepare meals for the group. The dining table comfortably seats 6 to 8 guests and there are 3 barstools at the kitchen counter. From the dining area, a sliding door leads out to a sunny side yard.

Past the kitchen, there’s a half bath in the hallway leading to the two bedrooms, both with a Queen bed. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, one with jetted tub/shower combo and the other with a large dual-head shower. Each also has a door leading out to that fabulous, fresh Tahoe air; one opens out to a deck and the other opens onto a screened-in porch, and in back, a sunny flagstone patio with an outdoor dining area – ideal for rule #2: Bask in the sunshine!.

Upstairs, the master suite is a wonderful retreat of its own with King bed, large HDTV, and full bathroom with jetted tub and shower. The bathroom goes through to a hidden surprise: A small sitting area that’s perfect for reading a good book. A door from the sitting area leads out to yet another sunny deck.

Located about halfway between Tahoe City and Carnelian Bay, Carnelian Bay Hideaway is centrally situated for enjoyment of all the North Shore has to offer.

This cabin was very comfortable for our family vacation in Tahoe. A big plus was having 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, as well as a 1/2 bathroom adjacent to the living room. The kitchen was very well equipped with appliances, cooking utensils and supplies. Instructions provided about all aspects of the cabin were very clear and complete. Comfortable furnishings and beds. Great bbq grill. We would definitely consider renting this cabin again.

We had a lovely stay in this well-appointed cabin. I loved every minute of it. There were three of us, each with our own private room and bath, but could definitely accommodate three couples or a family of up to six. The location is so convenient to restaurants, but the kitchen is also well equipped for cooking, so you have it made for both. The furnishings are also top-notch in living areas and the bedrooms.

We had a wonderful time on our family vacation to Lake Tahoe! This how was perfect for our family of 5. Plenty of space, lots of bathrooms, everything you need in the kitchen and clean! The location was great, too! We enjoyed bbq dinners and playing Cornhole in the backyard as a family. We even saw a bear walking down the street during dinner which was so cool! We would definitely stay here again.

Check in code was sent at 4pm. The outside of the house can be fooling, but once inside we were shocked about how much space this house had. Every bedroom had a full bath and a 1/2 bath downstairs. We used the kitchen for almost every meal and everything we needed was supplied. The fireplace was very useful and so was the washer/dryer. The only issue we came across was the pillows. It was so flat and looking back at a Feb 2020 review that also mentioned uncomfortable pillows—it’s past due for new pillows. The bedding also smelt a little funky. Great location 5-10 minutes from Tahoe City and Kings Beach. Safeway nearby and restaurants too. Neighborhood was quiet and we felt very safe. We drove to Yosemite and Reno from this location.

The rental is exactly as shown in the pictures. The kitchen was very well stocked - the kitchenware was above anything we have seen so far in rentals homes.
One area that may need attention is the pillows and bedding, which may use an upgrade.

Perfect stay for skiing Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. Easy peazy for check in and out. Beds very comfy and nice gas fireplace. Kitchen very well stocked and plenty of comfy seating for the 4 of us to relax and watch Apple TV that is provided. Appreciated all the bathrooms and a very delightful place to stay. So easy and nice to park in driveway in front of door. We would love to stay here again on our next ski trip. Owners have provided a wonderful retreat to enjoy Tahoe; thank you for an AWESOME stay��

The very well crafted home had extensive online viewing options, well thought out luxuries, and inviting rooms with in-suite bathrooms which is a must for 3 couples. My husband and I stayed at this property in October 2020 and enjoyed perfect weather and gorgeous fall color. It was so nice to return home after a day of hiking in the Tahoe Basin. The living area is very comfortable and the Apple TV system is much better than what we have at home. We also enjoyed the Apple Home Pod which allowed us to enjoy our favorite music with a Hey Siri request. The kitchen has high quality cookware, dishes and glasses and all the extras you might wish for including pie weights and muffin tins if you want to bake. The Nespresso coffee machine and frother was a special treat. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom which had a comfortable bed and an adjoining bathroom with a double shower. Again, towels and sheets were of high quality. Although we didn't use the outdoor space or gas grill on this trip, the backyard and decks would make comfortable spaces for reading and outside dining during the warmer months. Needless to say everything was immaculate. Definitely plan to return.

Thank you for making our first family Tahoe trip so memorable.

I cannot say enough how great our stay was. The Cozy Cabin/Carnelian Bay Hideaway was absolutely amazing! The cabin was clean, well equipped, and was perfect for our family. My wife and I stayed with our 3 kids (ages 3 1/2, 2, and 3 months) and it was perfect for our little family even with their young ages. I already looked into booking next summer so we are going to do that again. It is the perfect location and the whole rental process was so easy and convenient. Thank you for making our first family Tahoe trip so memorable.

Carnelian Bay Hideaway was perfect for our first trip to North Tahoe. We had our adult daughters and son in laws for the week. The bedrooms and bathrooms worked out nicely. We used the kitchen for several meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. We fished the lake with a guide and we fly fished the Truckee. More walking and hiking trails than you can imagine. We sadly never made it to bike or kayak but we will come back for that. Golf courses were plentiful but it was decided that would take too much time from exploring Tahoe City, Incline Village, Sunnyside and Emerald Bay. The cabin is perfectly located to every thing you could want to do. We had beautiful summer days. I did ignore all the warnings and left the car unlocked one night and we had a young visitor with big paws. But otherwise never saw a bear. Haha! Great cabin with all the necessities. Every one absolutely loved staying there!

House was nicely updated with a cozy but spacious enough living and dining areas. Three bedrooms and 3.5 baths was more than we needed. The house is ready for any type of devices. The AppleTV and Siri speakers were convenient for apres ski evenings. Snug but very well stocked kitchen. We were very pleased with how much space was designed into that home. Only thing missing was a hot tub.
