Summer in Tahoe

Thunder, lightning, rain, hail….seems like the perfect time to talk about the wooden boat show that happened just 11 days ago in Carnelian Bay. There is nothing that says having fun on a mountain lake better than the shine of well polished mahogany. And one of the best places to see all that gorgeous wood was the annual Concours d’Elegance at the Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay. This year, as usual the marina was packed with spectacular antique boats. I’m not a judge, but it seems to me that the competition must have been fierce. While the boats bring back the past, so did the big band that was belting out the jazz classics throughout the show. Here are a few photos to capture a bit of wooden boat heaven.
