Olympic Valley

Alpine Meadows

Located only six miles northwest of Tahoe City and 13 miles south of Truckee, Alpine Meadows is recognized as one of North America’s top ski resorts. The resort is known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere as well as seven powder bowls, summit to base groomed trails, and of course the breathtaking scenery of Lake Tahoe. Homewood Mountain Resort

Homewood Mountain Resort

Situated on the magical West Shore of Lake Tahoe, Homewood Mountain Resort boasts breathtaking views of the lake over 1,260 skiable acres. Plenty of groomed runs along with hidden powder stashes can be found throughout Homewood’s 60 trails. Protected from the wind by Ellis Peak, the resort hasn’t seen the use of a wind-hold in over a decade. Located in the Highlands in Tahoe City, Tahoe XC offers 50+ kilometers of groomed Nordic ski tracks in winter and access to hundreds of miles of mountain bike trails and rentals in the summer.

A public benefit corporation that manages the recreation area, ensures world-class grooming for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, accrues expenses, generates income, upkeeps the facilities and maintains the parking lot.

NorthStar

Northstar-at-Tahoe Ski Resort

Sitting only six miles from Truckee and only six miles from Lake Tahoe is Northstar-at-Tahoe Ski Resort. Home to 92 ski trails spread across 3,000 skiable acres, Northstar-at-Tahoe receives an annual snowfall of 350 inches. A vertical drop of 2,280 feet along with alpine and telemark skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and seven aaward-winning terrain parks provides skiers with plenty of options. A variety of lifts allow the resort an amazing uphill capacity of 34,799 skiers per hour. Mt. Rose

Mt. Rose – Ski Tahoe

Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe offers views of both beautiful Lake Tahoe and the City of Reno. Located in North Lake Tahoe, Mt. Rose provides the opportunity to glide down both east and western slopes, supplying skiers with even more terrain to explore. A vertical drop of 1800 feet sets up the now acclaimed Mt. Rose Chutes, the steepest and longest inbound slopes in North America. With 60 plus runs over 1,200 plus acres, 50 percent of Mt. Rose’s terrain is allocated to advanced skiers, 10 percent of it being for those who have become experts. Diamond Peak

Diamond Peak

Located in North Lake Tahoe, Diamond Peak offers an un-crowded mountain and stunning views of Lake Tahoe. With a great learning environment for beginners as well as challenging terrain for experts, Diamond Peak Ski Resort is an excellent place for the whole family. Six lifts cater to 30 trails spread over 655 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 1,840 feet. Open glades and tree skiing can be found throughout the resort, while there is also a terrain park with features for all abilities. Rails, boxes, kickers, table tops, and a wall ride give skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to catch some air. Sugarbowl

Sugar Bowl

Located on top of Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort sits on the western front of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and receives an outstanding average snowfall of 500 inches annually. Spread over 4 peaks served by six quads plus an additional 9 lifts, you won’t find yourself waiting in long lines. Boreal

Boreal

Situated in North Lake Tahoe, Boreal is only eight miles from Truckee and is easily accessed from all parts of northern California and Nevada. Receiving an average annual snowfall of 400 inches, Boreal’s additional snowmaking covers 75 to 80 percent of its terrain. Though small, Boreal’s 480 skiable acres offer 41 trails served by six lifts, a 500 vertical drop, four terrain parks, and tubing lanes. The resort’s terrain parks, Mini-Shred, Core Park, Jiblassic Park, and Shred Park, provide plenty of options for all levels to catch some air. Full of rails, rollers, jumps, tables, stair cases, boxes, wall rides, and even a superpipe, Boreal’s terrain parks have it all! Kirkwood

Kirkwood Mountain Resort

Kirkwood Mountain Resort is quickly becoming a family destination resort. Ranked number 10 in the country by Ski Magazine, this resort has plenty of winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sled tours, and backcountry expeditions. Located on top of the Sierra Crest, Kirkwood’s geographical position allows it to receive the lightest and driest snow in the Lake Tahoe region, as well as an annual snowfall around 600 inches, the deepest in the Lake Tahoe area. Sixty-five runs varying in terrain difficulty are spread over 2,300 acres that boast some of the finest powder around.
