This adorable, "olde-Tahoe" style cabin is conveniently located on Lake Tahoe's West Shore so you won't miss out on any of the local action. In the Sunnyside area just a couple of miles south of Tahoe City, Fir Forest Cottage is within super easy walking distance to the Lake, bike and paddleboard rentals, a variety of restaurants and a great little neighborhood market.

The immaculately maintained cabin has 3 bedrooms, each with a Queen bed, and accommodates up to 6 guests. The family dog is also welcome with prior approval.

Enter onto the first floor with the cozy living room featuring leather couch and love seat, flat screen TV and pellet woodstove; adjacent dining area complete with wet bar; fully-equipped kitchen with laundry facilities; one Queen bedroom; and a full bathroom in the hallway.

The second level holds two more Queen bedrooms with a full bathroom between. Please note, this bathroom has a bathtub but no shower equipment.

Out front, there’s a 1 car garage and paved driveway for 2 more cars. Out back, there’s a spacious deck with a picnic table and benches and a gas grill (available in summer only).

From this central West Shore location, it’s easy to get out and explore the gorgeous scenery and outdoor activities that make Lake Tahoe famous. World-class skiing and snowboarding is just minutes away at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Homewood Mountain Resort. A paved bike path leads north into Tahoe City or South towards the town of Homewood. Take the easy hike up to the top of nearby Eagle Rock for a full view of the lake. Three mind-blowingly beautiful state parks are a short drive south – Sugar Pine Point, DL Bliss and Emerald Bay.

GOOD TO KNOW (important details)
- Minimum age to rent: 25
- None of our properties have AC unless mentioned elsewhere
- Winter access: Chains or snow tires are often required in winter
- BBQs (propane) are not provided during winter (November–Memorial Day). Charcoal grills are banned in our area.
- Firewood is not supplied during the summer months (Memorial Day through October)
- Shampoo/conditioner/bodywash are not included
- Most have supplies like flour, sugar, salt & spices, but these are not guaranteed items
- We do not provide additional towels for beach use and encourage renters to bring them for summer stays
- For all dog-friendly properties, there is an additional fee of $100+tax per dog.
- Placer County STR rules: The county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing.
Some Highlights include: Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside a property, and all pet waste must be picked up. Street parking is prohibited year-round.

We loved our stay at Fir Forest Cottage and would definitely return. The location is amazing. It's only about a block down to the beach. The house had plenty of space to hang out after we got back from all of our outdoor activities. The back patio was spacious and just a pretty area to hang out. The kitchen was very well stocked. We also appreciated the beach chairs that were left in the garage. All in all, a great stay and a house that we would love to return to.

Staying at this cabin feels more like being a guest at a family member's home than being a renter. The owners have decorated it very attractively, and the beds are comfortable and sheets are soft and high-end. The kitchen was well-stocked and many things looked newly renovated including the carpet and exterior.
The TV was a bit hard to figure out and internet not very good, but the latter problem happens throughout the area.The house sits close to its neighbors, but we didn't have a problem with noise, and most of the houses in the area were very attractive and well-kept.
I loved the Tahoe Park Homeowners beach, where we launched our kayaks. Bike rentals were right down the street across from Sunnyside.
I applaud the owners for providing a very nice, comfortable place at a very good value!

The cabin felt like a cozy home yet with enough space that had everything, such as full kitchen, dining area, deck, nice natural light & furnishings, including comfy beds for examples. In a lovely neighborhood, It was only a 1-2 block walk down to the lake where the quiet park and dock had a beautiful view. It is an ideal place for a family (or friend) vacation. This cabin is clearly loved by its owners & is a truly special place.
